Huetone is here! ๐ŸŒˆ It's the tool you need to create and fine-tune your color system. Details in thread https://t.co/GS157Iu7aL

Ok, I've finally managed to render the limits of visible light in 3D (learned a ton). And it's even matches the render by Bruce Lindbloom. But I still have no idea how to align it with other color gamuts ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Cylindrical color spaces are designed for a very specific gamut (usually sRGB). So wider gamuts just blow up, especially ProPhoto, which has some imaginary colors. Damn, so many hours I've spent debugging, just to understand it's not a bug ๐Ÿ˜…

@Yoganesh_ Hue alone isnโ€™t enough. We can't harmonize a palette just by drawing a shape on a color wheel. To make a palette work it's important also to balance lightness and chroma. And not all hues are equal. Great explainer by Peter (@color_nerd) https://t.co/zTAiiATHKw

Color wheel depends on the color space. So the next time you see a harmony rule like complementary/triadic/etc, ask about the color space ๐Ÿ™ƒ HSL โ‰  OKLCH โ‰  LCH

Love how these boundaries look with the OKLCH space. Probably need to make some kind of video to explain what's going on here, but well it's just beautiful

The important yet missing piece in Hueplot is the boundary of human color perception. Still figuring out how to close the shape but this is already something

Last week, I published a chapter about color. It's fairly comprehensive: https://t.co/K8jhsHs6C8

I saw that joke about replacing "AI" with "cocaine" and turned it into a browser extension just for fun. Now I don't want to turn it off

The worst part is that our DS team always worked hard to ship non-breaking changes for 50+ designers. This bug undoes all that hard-won trust in a click ๐Ÿ˜”

Disappointed with @figma lately ๐Ÿ˜” For 2 months our design-system team canโ€™t ship any library updates because of a confirmed bug. Accidentally accepting the last update resets most of the components. I lost hours of work yesterday.
