The delays over the past days are caused by an issue in firmware that is commonly used by our pros. The issue didn't appear during the rehearsals.
We are using temporary measures for now, during the week will be working on a permanent solution. Ty for the patience!

What happened to the

crown trophy?
The winners of the Season Finals in Montpellier Occitanie will lift it and have their team’s name engraved on it.
In the new LEC format, winning the Season Finals is comparable to winning the Spring or Summer Split in previous years.

Are there multiple shields?
Yes! The Winter, Spring, and Summer Split all feature a unique shield with different materials and textures.

Why shield? What about a miniature trophy?
Our Split Finals shouldn't live in the shadows of the Season Finals at the end of the year. We wanted to create an award for each Split that stands on its own, and represents the efforts that winning one takes within the new format.

Why is there a break week mid-split?
We prioritized giving ERLs a free weekend to run the ERL Spring Split finals. Our aspiration for the future is to achieve that without the need for a break week. 1/

Lastly: after several rounds of iteration on the design and looking at the final options, the shield sparked excitement among the team in a way more traditional options didn’t. We ended up going with a bolder vision. Can’t wait to see how all three will look next to each other!

when drafts are pre-recorded we have more editorial control over the ways to present them. If there are spicy picks and fun player reactions we can choose to spend more broadcast time on highlighting these. Or we can decide to jump into the game faster.

Rather, a third-party firewall service blacklisted our studio's IP due to a misconfiguration. When it happened the team in Berlin connected with our colleagues on the other side of the world to confirm the cause and request a fix that could not have been done on our own. 2/3

Following discussions with the LEC Player Council and team managers, we will be trialing a four-week Regular Season to allow for more practice time in between matches. In turn this offers teams and players more breaks during the first half of the Split. (2/4)

sure, in short: until now, champ select was broadcasted live, on-stage, right before the game began. In the Regular Season of Spring, we will pre-record it before players go on-stage. We will still have a draft analysis segment on the broadcast, but in a more condensed form.
