I saw Janet Jackson for £15 in 1990. The Bank of England inflation calculator says that today it would be worth £35.94. So yeah, tickets for the big artistes are massively more expensive than they should be, because we commoditised music 😔.

It’s a real sign of age to be going ‘how much!?’ at the price of a KitKat or something, but if you were a music fan in the nineties it *does* feel weird to see gig tickets for £150ish FACE VALUE and everyone seemingly cool with it.
