People think COVID is mild because, if it's dangerous, it means you can't trust any authority figure's statements from the past four years. It means every institution has failed.
It's an absolute epistemic and political crisis.
It just can't be true.
Whether fighting infectious disease, ensuring we are ready to respond to health threats, supporting the health of young families, or improving mental health, CDC is working hard to protect health for all Americans 💪
Hello class!
This is a bottle of Bitrex solution. It is the bitterest tasting substance known to science. I have filled this nebulizer with it.
*turns on nebulizer, stream of particles shoots out*
🧵
Final nail for the idea that this is anything but a medical mask ban. They are very specifically and intentionally going after the exact type of masks that WE PROMOTED FOR WEARING at the protests THEY THINK ARE TERRORISM.
Okay, let's simulate what happened when the Omicron BA.1 variant evolved around December 2021.
*places 19 other nebulizers on the desk and turns them on*
Okay, now I am seeing leftists arguing that gardening is the true revolutionary skill.
Look, I try to be nice, but sometimes all caps is needed for emphasis:
STOP TRYING TO PRETEND YOUR HOBBY IS THE REVOLUTION. YOU CANNOT FIX INDIVIDUALISM WITH INDIVIDUALISM
After hearing reports that people experience less harassment and ostracism when their respirator matches their outfit, I am making...
✨respi lookbook thread✨
🧵
If we normalize mask wearing to avoid surveillance, they will make mask wearing illegal.
Normalize mask wearing to protect yourself and your community from viruses and air pollution. Weave it into the social fabric now before you lose it forever.
Elderly person has a minor fall, is hospitalized. Catches COVID in the hospital.
Dies from COVID they caught in the hospital.
Why are doctors murdering their patients?
Just got word from their family that they've passed away. Went in for a relatively minor issue, lost their life to no proper infection control, horrible staff apathy and basically a total disregard for their safety,. The family is devastated. How much longer will this go on? 😢🤬
So if you want to opt-out, go ahead and put your respirator on now, and the bitter taste will fade in a minute.
For those of you who put your respirator on early, congratulations! You avoided a lifetime of disability.
For those of you who can taste it, you are now infected with COVID. You will also notice under your chair there is a single, six-sided die. Roll that die now.
If you rolled a 6, you now have long COVID.
Go ahead and put your hand up if you got long COVID.
John Oliver says the quiet part loud!
"You remember COVID! It's the Stephen Miller of diseases in that we were all very worried about it a few years ago, and have since moved on even though it's still extremely dangerous."
*nebulizer still hissing*
*student runs to the front for chocolate*
Okay for those of you not wearing respirators who want the experiment to end, unfortunately in real life viruses don't suddenly disappear, and the experiment never ends.
In a minute or two, you will be able to taste it.
*nervous shifting*
Under your chairs you will find individually packaged 3M Aura disposable respirators. If you want to see how effective these are at blocking airborne particles, go ahead and locate yours now.
I'm sure there is nothing dangerous about bird flu in your milk.
After all, it is pasteurized.
And pasteurization is a quality controlled process. Like aircraft maintenance.
We need artists to help make respirators fashionable so people will wear them for fun. There is no hierarchy between art and science in a social movement. It takes both.
For those of you who do not wish to wear respirators, no problem, you can be the control group.
*disgusted faces, moaning* 🤢
Ah yes, some of you are tasting it now!
It tastes awful, right? I have chocolate at the front if you want an antidote.
Don't worry, Bitrex is completely safe and has an excellent safety record. It just tastes bad.
*nebulizer is still running*
As you can see, the nebulizer is aerosolizing the Bitrex, and mixing it into the room air. A lot like someone infected with COVID.
So let me get this straight:
1. The plane may not have all of its bolts
2. COVID hotbox
3. Brain fogged pilot
4. Passengers shooting "liters of blood" out of nose and mouth all over the interior of the plane in front of screaming passengers
Why do we fly?
Husband, 63, dies beside his wife when 'litres of blood' shoot out of his nose and mouth all over the interior of the plane in front of screaming passengers flying from Bangkok to Germany 😳
Put on your respirator and mold the nose wire to conform to your nose. Cup your hands over the front of the respirator and blow out forcefully. See if you can feel any leaks around the edges.
*nebulizer hissing*
I have decided to stop wearing seatbelts, using condoms, reading safety labels, wearing shoes, washing my hands, going to the dentist, eating healthy, taking medicine, and looking away from solar eclipses, because none of these are 100% effective, and I need to live my best life.
COVID being the
#3
or
#4
cause of death sort of misses the point.
COVID is PREVENTABLE.
You're supposed to die from illnesses that we are powerless to stop. Not from selfishness and masky facey hurty.
Thailand newscasters had to wear a mask in the early part of the pandemic because they knew this helped to model good behavior for their population. It's not an accident that they had some of the lowest rates of COVID-19 infection in the world.
Okay this is very very very important.
The health care workers who:
1. Understand how bad COVID is, and
2. Are able to get out of the system
THEY LEFT!
The people who remain behind are the ones removing mask mandates and "de-COVIDing".
After my 4 partners voted in February to end the mask requirement in our pediatrics office I decided to retire early. An employee in the office told me about a staff meeting last week in which the partners discussed how to "de-COVID" the office. 1/3
One of the best things you can do is pick up an industrial half-mask elastomeric respirator and a few spare cartridges. They'll work for a long time, and likely provide superior protection, unlike a box of disposables which you'll run out of pretty quick.
Definitely fit-test.
Governments are starting to quietly prepare for an H5N1 pandemic. You should prepare too. Don't wait for official announcements because by then it's too late. Prepare now. H5N1 is so much worse that Covid and Covid is already extremely bad.
The news we are reading here every day is literally unbelievable. Planes crash landing. CDC Director's husband working in secret on miracle COVID prophylaxis. Hunger games Met Gala. Bird flu in all the milk. Unbelievable.
Yes. This is exactly correct. 😭
I would like to propose a new clinical rotation for doctors in training. It works like this: you get paired with a chronic illness patient and you have to attend every appointment they go to. You have to physically get up at dawn to be gaslit.
This is actually good evidence that a lot of job applicants want to avoid COVID.
You have to understand, in the before times, going to conferences was basically a company-paid vacation. People loved conferences.
I have just been informed that when we say "airborne", normies believe this means droplets.
They think they droplets, flying through the air (on their way to the ground), are what "airborne" means.
We keep saying "it's airborne" and we're reinforcing the droplet theory. 😩
They are going to burn the remaining Paxlovid rather than give it to people who are begging for prescription.
Liberals like to call this "voting for the lesser of two evils".
apparently, as of today any locations that still have government-funded Paxlovid have to return it to Pfizer (even if it’s not expired) and they’re only allowed to dispense the $1400 Paxlovid boxes now

UCLA has recorded nearly 12 inches of rain in the last 24 hours, a 1 in 1000-year rainfall rainfall event for Westwood.
A truly unprecedented storm in modern history for the region as an atmospheric river stalls over the region.
"I don't have to choose between my values and my desire for connection.”
@Clean_Air_Club_
still cares about COVID—and wants safer concerts. Learn how their Chicago-based organizing work helped create a global wave of clean air initiatives for artists.
This keeps coming up so let me phrase it another way.
There is no way to prove that you do NOT have infectious covid. The diagnostic tools we have can only rule-in infection, they cannot rule it out.
I should pick a random sample of PhDs, follow them longitudinally, and plot a Kaplan-Meier curve showing survival probability until maskless indoor selfie.
The fact that people can be snake charmed into believing covid is harmless is terrifying.
At any moment they could fire up the propaganda machines to sell the population on anything.
People are not what we thought.
Remember the president of

canceled graduation after arresting 200 of her own students? Today those same students stood strong by holding a beautiful alternative graduation ceremony at St. John the Divine near campus.
Major display of student power.👊⤵️
It was a serious strategic error to mock conspiracy theorists for years. Because now people can't tell the difference between a conspiracy theory and a minority viewpoint supported by a mountain of published science.
They reason they don't want you to wear a mask is because it's a eugenics project and they're literally trying to kill off the vulnerable.
And you do that by exposing everyone and waiting.
If people mask they are hacking a loophole in the "survival of the fittest" algorithm.
Given how heavily stigmatized mask wearing is—as per decree of the predator class—wearing a mask is a pretty excellent metric for identifying others who embody real solidarity, real commitment to care, those who accept NO class of marginalized people being made disposable.
Looks like I was a bit of a textbook case for this information. Positive until day 10, then negative.
But looking at the tests(esp day 6) & the NZ recommendation of ending isolation on day 6, I would most likely been out and about contagious for 4 days,
Keep on testing people!
1. Humans cannot get durable immunity to coronaviruses.
2. Current evidence suggests everyone will develop worsening health upon endless reinfections, until they become too sick to work, or die.
3. If you do not wear a respirator in public this will happen to you.
What's like, top covid points for the uninitiated? My list goes like this:
1. COVID is bad for you. Take it seriously
2. It attaches to the air and can stay there many hours (airborne)
3. We cannot cure it, but we can mitigate transmission
The people responsible for spreading infinity COVID globally are married to the people responsible for an "exciting breakthrough that could transform how we protect against COVID-19".
Low wastewater means you will encounter infectious people *less frequently*.
Low wastewater does not mean low risk. At all.
It means you'll be standing in line behind an infectious person at the coffee shop once per week instead of once per day.
Notice how there is no such thing as 50% compliance. There is 1% or 99% compliance. Once we reach a tipping point, the average person follows the herd's direction.
Which is why we should praise people for any amount of masking they do, while encouraging them to do more.
Imagine being a doctor and realizing your medical training overlooked the most important and basic fundamentals of patient safety, and that you were taught outright pseudoscience by charlatans, and that you repeated these lies *confidently* to patients who trusted you. Shit.
Can we please change the narrative from: "Why aren't healthcare workers wearing masks?" As if we are perpetually confused. As if they are ignorant of air.
Healthcare workers are intentionally infecting their patients.
It has to stop.
Imagine *actually* having the epiphany that everybody is lying to you.
Now you have to do your own research. How do you even do that?
Shit, you might even have long covid already.
Shit.
Wearing a respirator is not actually hard.
What is hard is doing it while being gaslit and abused by society.
Which is why we have to do it. To pave the way for others to join us.
This is real leadership.
2024: Public health starts talking about respirators, Time magazine wondering out loud if COVID is bad
2025: Celebs and early majority begin wearing respirators, SA55 nasal spray becomes commercially available
2026: Masquerade party Tiktok trend, "I always knew COVID was bad"
I don't think enough people get this.
The words "The Pandemic" literally mean "the safety measures" to the general population.
"the pandemic is over" = the safety measures are over
"back during the pandemic" = back when we masked
"the pandemic caused" = the "lockdowns" caused
Let me break it down.
They are letting SARS2 rip. It will disable the working class more than the rich. They will remove meager social supports. They will offer assisted death to the poor and disabled. They will increase immigration for a supply of fresher bodies.
So I had some interactions lately which convinced me that the "average" or "normal" person is beyond their stress limit right now, and their brains are shutting down.
They are literally tuning out Scary Information just to try to survive another day.
How you feel during your acute infection has nothing to do with the damage it is causing to your body.
Lots of people feel great while they smoke or drink. But behind the scenes, cancer is growing.
Periodic reminder that there is no amount of air cleaning which can render an environment safe to take off your respirator. It's physically impossible to do with current technology.
Imagine you pay for your concert ticket. A Pluslife test is included. You do a swab at the door and then hang out at the patio bar for 30 minutes. They pool your test with a couple other people, and plug it into an 8x parallelized dock. Test 1 person/minute on average, for $2.50.
If you're progressive, the government is clearly corrupt, having totally failed us, including every party, including and especially the left-wing ones, and the only fleeting response at the moment is individualism. Individuals are masking and building CR boxes. Shit.
The NPR article is gaslighting ascientific garbage and NPR should be ashamed of it.
Stop killing and maiming your family for indoor dining. Do you seriously love indoor dining more than your fucking family? It really looks like you do. That really seems to be who you are.
I don't know who needs to hear this but...
Build a ton of PC fan CR boxes now. If your cohabitants give up masking later, you'll still have a passive line of defense which reduces inhaled dose, and could possibly prevent infection in combination with vaccine leaky immunity.
The proud boys do not wear medical masks to protests. They wear bandanas.
The government is trying to ban medical masks.
Do you see it now? The move you should make next?
The reason they can get away with doing nothing about COVID is because it's no longer an existential threat to capitalism.
There are 8 billion people on earth and COVID has killed 30 million of them in 4.5 years.
That's 0.083% of the human population per year.
The most important unanswered question, in my opinion, is the precise inhaled dose required to initiate an infection.
If it is 1 virion, we all need to be wearing the highest fit factor possible. If it is reliably more than 1, we can use less stringent PPE.
