It's a massive shame that riding a bicycle, a sustainable and healthy way of getting from A to B, is divisive, politicised. And that wanting to get around without dying and enable others to get around safely basically forces you to become an 'activist'. MT: @Breeganism

I've been reflecting on the decline of X and the exodus to bluesky. I found a quote from Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman of North Wales Police that exactly captures my sentiment: "We felt that the platform was no longer consistent with our values." So I'm @anotherjon.bsky.social

West Mercia's Inspector Ray Jones told Shropshire Live: "Specialist officers are investigating this collision and, whilst it would not be appropriate to speculate on the cause, colleagues are keen to hear from witnesses who can corroborate whether the house had any lights on."

Lee Zeldin's Environmental score is 14%, meaning he voted against the environment in 86% of his 235 votes.
It is an honor to join President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator. We will restore US energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, and make the US the global leader of AI. We will do so while protecting access to clean air and water.

Trump's choice to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, Lee Zeldin, has a climate record that includes slashing the EPA’s budget, opposing climate action, and denying climate change. His main “qualification”? Loyalty to Trump.

If confirmed, Zeldin would lead the Republican effort to roll back Biden's key climate change regulations — including rules tightening the pollution from power plants and tailpipes.

Beneath the clichés, there's just.. ..nothing. That's why Anderson pushes back so hard. Whatever politics is without any actual policy, that's what this is.
I spent the day at the Reform conference in Wales today. They say they will fix the Welsh NHS if you vote for them, but they fall apart in the details. Here is a small part of my Lee Anderson Interview. Full interview with him and Nigel Farage in the newsletter this weekend.

Shepherd’s Cottage, Eric Ravilious, 1934. It depicts a cottage near Furlongs at Firle, East #Sussex. The original artwork, once thought lost, now appears to be in a private collection but is on display at @TownerGallery.

"(Petersen) sees the glorification of speed - personal bests, constant quantification, metrics, leaderboards - as discouraging to entry-level riders who might otherwise enjoy life with a bike." - Absolutely.
Through the years, Rivendell bicycles have amassed a devoted—some might say cult-like— following. The founder, Grant Petersen, just wants to preserve the craft, and delight, of cycling.

One of the most vital things that people are unaware of when looking at the state of the planet...
There is a curious phenomenon that results from the relatively brief window of time a single human lifetime provides: we perceive the current state of the natural world as “normal”. This is known as the Shifting Baseline Syndrome. 🧵

"As Larry Mishel, former president of Economic Policy Institute, who has written extensively on politics and the working class, said, there is a glaring lack of connection between material reality, even material gains, and recognition or appreciation for such gains." - How bleak.
No Democrats didn’t abandon the working class. The Biden/Harris administration was the most pro-working class in recent memory. The problem for Dems is that policy results don’t lead to electoral benefits

X's algorithm thinks that what I really, really need is a cattle injection gun. But not just *any* cattle injection gun, oh no: one that "allows a farmer or stockman to administer multiple doses of medication in a safe, stress-free and efficient manner," and I'm baffled.

People with money & education see only Republican misogyny & racism, but they fail to see that much of this country is a shithole, through no fault of the people who live there, and Americans are suffering and furious and ashamed. But Trump sees these things. That's why he wins.
Look at this front porch. Really look at it. The entire PA town where I canvassed today looked like this. Towns across America look like this. Fuck macroeconomics. Until the Democrats manage to pass policy that really renews this country, the fascist threat will never go away.

All of this, but especially "stop trying to reason this out" is exactly the advice I need right now.
