More South Korean women are working than ever, but entrenched gender expectations haven’t gone away. Women still bear the brunt of household chores and child care, even in families where both parents work, government statistics show.

Women freezing their eggs. Dads who take the lead with child care. People who choose to be single. These South Koreans are shaking up societal traditions.

Christopher Luxon, likely NZ's next prime minister, has said next to nothing on China. But his mentor John Key has thoughts: “He’s a very, very commercial guy... he will be very conscious of the trading relationship we have” with China. From @MikeMillerDC: https://t.co/viZw4fHxj6

I honestly don’t understand what the big deal is. In political science, a “dictator” is simply a leader selected through undemocratic means who can dictate policy outcomes to a large extent in a country. Many leaders fit this definition and it’s by no means negative

As a hungry young student, I loved studying Anglo-Saxon poetry, French literature, German, sociolinguistics... I loved the arts and the drama and the music at VUW. It was an incredibly enriching time that set me up well for life. So sad to think future students may be denied this
