I started a new company with @nitinrajini ! We’ve raised $2.3M led by @a16zGames SPEEDRUN for Closing Theory Studios - a new, independent game studio. Games have traditionally been all about fantasy, a hard fork from the real world. We started Closing Theory because we believe

running boom -> sprinting boom
Feels like we’re on the verge of a running boom. The entire category of existing products - apps, memberships, clubs, supplements, shoes, apparel, events, gear, etc - is about to blow up. More people are running, tracking, training, and talking about it than ever before.

Getting setup on Axon and hitting some bugs with our first creative set, would love some help to see what all the hype is about! cc @rfvivas @AxonAdsManager

Whoop has zero incentive to show users their true 'real age' score if its actually not good. Awful score > people will give up and hate the app (shooting the messenger) They're incentivized to show you an okay score to start and then improve that score even if you change
you can just tell users their 'real age' is like half their actual age and they will love your product and promote it all day as a brag

Genuis move from the Atlas team to incentive people setting it as their default browser The retention bump will be worth so much more than 7 days of extra credits

$2M ARR in three months used to be impressive. Now we expect it within ten days. Right now, momentum is the only moat.

Dope to see $OPEN adding more firepower to the new leadership team but so curious if Kaz had a non-solicit in his exit from Shopify. Can't imagine Tobi and team allowed/are happy with him poaching away an exec

Great point. Think it’s because sports and concerts are more entertaining to watch than earning calls (for most) so it’s easy to see what elite looks like. Also every kid grows up playing a sport or singing and realizes they’re not good enough to go pro, but few try and start
Something I genuinely wonder: why do anti capitalists seem a lot more bothered with the incomes of CEOs than incomes of elite athletes, musicians, actors etc? My guess they can comprehend the uniqueness of the skills of Taylor Swift or LeBron James but they have no idea what

Amazon’s CEO makes at least $40.1 MILLION a year while the average Amazon worker makes less than $38k a year How is that pro-worker or pro-American? It’s time to put American workers FIRST

The FTC just sued Zillow for paying Redfin $100m to exit the rental listings market, stating that it was a violation of antitrust. Wild.

Sora 2 Prediction: AI slop videos are going to crush for app developers who scale with paid ads, and suck for the ones who rely on viral organic content. Ads have one goal, get the viewer to click. It doesn't matter if it's obviously AI, if it's interesting and compelling

jk it was $5 from a UGC creator and its been our best performing ad for the last 2 months. think its still a while until good AI UGC video costs are low enough to compete

After 2.5 years, we finally fixed the real estate industry. All the big RE companies have been ignoring the vast majority of the market. They’re focused on improving the buying and selling experience, but most people who go on Zillow aren’t looking to buy or sell a house.
