Probably in the pub. Or working at the Beeb on iPlayer. Or, occasionally, both. Although I only seem to tweet about the theatre. 🏳️🌈

Yesterday I sat in an audience for the first time since mid-March. Thank you everyone at @OpenAirTheatre for a fantastic afternoon - felt like coming home. Stunning production and magical setting

'Amelie' (@AmelieMusicalUK) at @TheOtherPalace is a delight. Beautiful to look at, gloriously performed by an incredible cast and a sweet, romantic, joyful balm for any troubled soul. May have shed a tear. Loved it.

'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' at the @_bridgetheatre was a fab spectacle. Lots of lovely design and some great costumes and a very enjoyable, slightly silly atmosphere. Good, seasonal family fun.

'Teenage Dick' at the @DonmarWarehouse was a lot of fun. Very funny, clever and with a superb lead performance from Daniel Monks. He's charismatic, funny and just dislikable enough. Great dance sequence too.

Saw 'Ian McKellen On Stage' at the @HPinterTheatre last night. It will surprise no one to hear that @IanMcKellen is a national treasure and electrifying on stage but he is also really, really funny. Warmly companionable, charming and simply bursting with joie de vivre. Loved it

Absolutely loved 'Conspiracy' from @Barrel_Organ at the @newdiorama. Obviously very, very funny but also with clever things to say about the appeal of attractive narratives masquerading as facts. Fab final 'shot' too!

Enjoyed 'The Watsons' at @MenChocFactory. Light, frothy fun that plays with the Austen tropes entertainingly. If the final scenes are a little on the nose, the journey has been very enjoyable. Particular praise for @GraceMolony9's Emma.

'Faith, Hope and Charity' at the @NationalTheatre is astonishing. The incredibly naturalistic performances completely convince, the unforgiving lighting gives the audience nowhere to hide and the brief moment of joy in all the heartache almost broke me.

'Hello Again' at @TheUnionTheatre was beautifully sung by a top-notch cast and the band was glorious. The pared-back staging and atmospheric lighting design worked brilliantly. @graceyroberts sang 'Tom' quite brilliantly and the end was surprisingly moving.

As ever with the @CharingCrossThr, 'Queen of the Mist' is beautifully performed and stunning to look at. Lovely orchestration and vocals bring out the best in a rarely performed show. @TrudiCamilleri impressive playing a unique, interesting heroine

'The Doctor' at the @AlmeidaTheatre is a triumph. A scintillating script brimming with interesting ethical and moral questions but, also, deeply humane. Juliet Stevenson is magnificent - magnetic and flawed and human. I loved it.

'A Very Expensive Poison' at the @oldvictheatre is, much like Prebble's 'Enron', an extremely political and theatrical piece. Suffused with an underlying anger that the world permits this kind of behaviour. Bizarre, funny, messy and brilliantly designed.

Very much enjoyed 'Macbeth' at Temple Church last night. Such an evocative and atmospheric space for a bit of tragedy. And @anticdispo really did the Bard proud with a tense and fast-moving production. Especially loved the wyrd sisters.

A return visit to 'Blues in the Night' last week - still brilliant. Wondering if I can fit it in one more time...
Saw 'Blues in the Night' at the @KilnTheatre last night. Breathtakingly beautiful singing and the band was on fire. Immaculately directed with very impressive lighting design. Sharon D Clarke singing 'Wasted Life Blues' is pretty much a religious experience.

'Actually' at the @TrafStudios was a very enjoyable two-hander. Compelling and satisfying even with no clear answers to the pertinent questions it raises. Recommended.

'Evita' at the @OpenAirTheatre is a triumph. Edgy, tense and sexy. Brilliant choreography danced incredibly. Smoke and explosive effects galore really exploiting the outside space and a frenzied political protest vibe and energy. Samantha Pauly, @EktorRivera & @TrentSaun - superb

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the @_bridgetheatre is a joy. Technically and acrobatically impressive but with a warmth and sense of mischievous fun. It also happens to be very funny. Left the theatre with a big grin.

'Adrian Mole' at the @Ambtheatre is worth seeing just for the amazingly stupid and fab school nativity sequence. Very talented young actors do an amazing job with light, funny and entertaining material.

Return visit to 'Jesus Christ Superstar' at the @BarbicanCentre after seeing this production at the Open Air years ago. Just as good as I remember it. Great, raw vocals and outstanding orchestra. Superb lighting design and the sound balance was absolutely tip-top. Thumbs up
