But, there are exciting things ahead! Almost a year ago I received a Fogarty Post-Doctoral Fellowship @Fogarty_NIH that will take me to Ghana for a year to study maternal-child health during malaria infections. Looking forward to continuing my journey and growth as a scientist!🧬

Last August I had the opportunity of meeting the amazing @CVRHutchinson & talented @annasimsbiol at @CVRinfo and briefly chatted with them about this work. So happy to see it out there in the world and for the scientific community at large. Very cool work. Congrats 🎉.
Once a #virus has infected a cell, it begins to exclude related viruses. @annasimsbiol @CVRHutchinson &co show that this compartmentalizes #influenza viruses into distinct regions within their host, reducing opportunities for genetic exchange #PLOSBiology

Probably around 2019. Thankful for the multitude of times Georgia and Karen have kept me company during long lab days. 🫶🏼.
On this day, seven years ago (January 13, 2016), the first episode of My Favorite Murder went live. Tell us when you started listening! #ssdgm

One of my favorite parts about Christmas back home. ❤️ I still remember waking up when I was little to the sound of all these instruments together.
This is how Christmas looks like in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.•.This is a parranda (or trulla), basically a group of friends unexpectedly arrive at your home (quite late) and start playing until you let us in. Features guitars, conga, cuatro puertorriqueño, bongos, güiro, and singers.
