Shahid Afridi asks his Indian fan to open her flag and then poses for this exquisite photo. The message is, leave politics aside, and let cricket be. Well-done

Shashi Kapoor’s memorial held in Peshawar - outside his father’s Prithviraj Kapoor’s house where his elder brother Raj Kapoor was born. He visited the house in the late 90s..
Protests against war took place all over Pakistan. This is a huge win for the civil society which has been under constant crackdown since last few years. Here is a video from Islamabad. Many people had banners asking for

I am a Punjabi and my ancestors were all local Indians who suffered countless attacks, by your ancestors and in-laws, who were mostly thugs. I am coming over to your house for getting my stolen wealth back.
PS: sum up the courage to unblock me, Mr pure-bred?
This is in very poor taste. This is bullying. Remember Sarfraz gave us the joy of the ICC Champions trophy just two years ago? Please show some grace..
This video shows the illegal nikkah ceremony of two Hindu girls who are both 12 and 14. Everyone in attendance should be arrested along with the nikkahkhawa and groom. Make an example out of them so enforced conversions and marriages can end in Sindh.
Pakistan has conferred the highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Pakistan, to the late Asma Jahangir. Don’t underestimate - the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has acknowledged a feminist, human rights defender & a liberal who fought for secularism all her life. So proud!

The father of the two underage Hindu girls were who were abducted during the Holi festivities in Sindh. He is wailing in front of the police station. This abduction and marriage is illegal so why is it taking so long to recover them?

has won the third highest civilian award in Pakistan- Sitara-e-Imtiaz. He has been writing against injustice, state brutality & enforced disappearances. Proud that Pak govt has shown some maturity by recognising a great voice despite its dissent. Photo:

This is apparently a video interview of the Wing Commander Abhinandan. He seems to be in good spirits and enjoying his tea. One must admire his composure in this situation.
Fayaz-ul-Hasan Chohan, Minister of information & culture in Punjab, Pakistan's most populous province. He is referring to Hindus as "cow urine drinkers" & "idol worshippers". PTI should remove this joker from his post & charge him for discriminating against a religious minority.
Has Imran Khan condemned the

Pakistan’s government has finally been embarrassed into deleting that poorly-edited propaganda video of WC

Here is a PTI minister giving Imran Khan the credit for the rains. And no, she isn’t joking. And yes, there are many like her in this party and cabinet.
Thousands of women attend Asma Jahangir’s funeral in Lahore today, defying both religion & tradition. The last time it happened was on Sabeen Mehmood’s funeral. Asma’s daughters Sulema & Munizae remained with their mother’s body till the end. The prayer was led by Farooq Maududi.
I announce with a broken spirit that my grandmother who brought me up with utmost love and affection, Nazli Attiya Begum, has passed away. The funeral is at ten tonight.
Incredible: Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, just promised to send Indian Airforce pilot

1. I have no love lost for PM

2. I have little respect for some loud & odious sections of Indian media.
3. I am deeply concerned for the human rights of Kashmiris.
But I will never agree that Pakistan’s soil should be used to train & import terrorists. Never.
Tarek, despite these differences people fall in love, strike friendships & live together. Majority of Indians & Pakistanis share tremendous respect & affection for each other. I know this because I live in Pakistan & have visited India multiple times. You have turned into a cynic

This is my loneliest night ever. I thought this day will come after many years. I would a much older woman with a big house and a lot of money. But alas, Ammi is gone and here I am, collecting my broken self again.

Pakistan's first Dalit parliamentarian, Krishna Kumari, takes oath in the Senate in an enchantingly beautiful Thari outfit. She received a huge round of applause. More power to you woman. (Photos via The News)
Pakistan will always love Salman Khan as its Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Indians & Pakistanis laughed together sans jingoism. A heart-warming blockbuster on both the sides, the film released exactly 50 years after the 1965 war, that had led to the first ban on Indian movies in Pakistan.
Asma Jahangir during the protest against Zia-ul-Haq’s Hudood Ordinance on 12th February 1983, on Lahore’s Mall Road. This iconic photo will be 25 years old tomorrow.

This discrimination against Afghan refugees in the name of humour is deeply disturbing. Pakistanis, despite sharing their country with one of the world’s biggest refugee populations, have little sensitivity towards them & no understanding of their turmoil
This Uncle lives in 1942. Along with being hyperactive, he thinks all Indians are “Hindus” and all Pakistanis are “Muslims” ... I really hope he does reach the Sialkot border ASAP.
I went for a walk. Near the park was a jalebi stall. And the rest, as they say, is history. I think I need to move to a new, less jalebi-prone park. 😦😢😢
Three cheers for

One great news: A statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh will be unveiled on June 27th in Lahore Fort. On the eve of his 180th death anniversary, a life-sized sculpture depicting the Maharaja on his favorite Arabic horse named Kahar Bahar, will be made public outside the Sikh Gallery.
