I just spoke to a 70yo woman who is considering hiring me as a story coach & writer in the new year. She wants to help people in her field discover their 2nd career chapters. Yet another moment in my work where I feel so honored by the women who invite me into their lives.

More humane ways of relating to each other like this one, please.
this semester i tried a radical thing where i made every single deadline flexible for my college writing students. every single one! no "i almost died" note required. the policy is that if they aren't going to meet the deadline, they just propose an alternate one. i bet this. .
