Thank you @NWSMilwaukee! Was able to get some things indoors before this one went through. These hail stones fell at about 4:05 pm and were between 1.00-1.25 in near Chicory Meadow park in Fitchburg

This winter was characterized by anomalous warmth for much of the region. Milwaukee experienced it's warmest winter on record while Madison just saw it's second warmest winter. Even though we had near normal precipitation, snowfall was still below normal for the region. #wiwx

While it's unseasonably mild in much of the eastern US & we could have record warmth next week, it's too soon to declare winter over. Polar vortex may still have some tricks up its sleeves. Report from @MatthewCappucci ⬇️ https://t.co/Cjw7oTI0QV

A disruption of the vortex could set off a chain reaction reversing the mild weather pattern in a few weeks.

Today’s view looking south from @UW_AOS / @UWCIMSS with a PM2.5 air quality index >250 vs a clear day from October 2022. My asthma is usually not an issue for me, but today is not a usual day.
