The new Arctic Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark - is my colleague from the 🇬🇱 Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the current representative to the US. It marks the first time, that a Greenlander is appointed Ambassador, and we are all immensely proud.

New Government of #Greenland presented in Nuuk today, a historically broad government representing 75% of the population (or rather cast votes) embodied by 4 (out of 5) political parties. A strong statement of unity as well as a strong message to friends, allies and the world.

85 percent of Greenlanders say no to becoming part of the US. A survey conducted by @VerianGroup for @berlingske and Greenland’s @sermitsiaqag cuts through the Trump narrative that there is a pro-American majority in the Greenlandic population.

On this day, August 6 in 2004, the Igaliku Agreement was signed between #Greenland #USA and Denmark. The Agreement laid the foundation for the ongoing Joint Committee on civilian cooperation between Greenland and USA - i.e. Trade, Education, Science etc. #Arctic #Diplomacy
