Tim is replacing @byJulianMack - who is, in fact, irreplaceable/inimitable. I was so lucky to sit alongside Julian for six years at the Globe, and to learn from his extraordinary insight into the game. Not sure any writer has greater appreciation for the sport’s nuance 2/4.

The idea Mayer is going to pay other positions isn't new. It was supposed to be part of the plan last year - he played 3B on 6/5 and would've on 6/20 but it was rained out, but for some reason they never committed to it more before he got hurt. Team preaches posn'l versatility.
