I agree that Campbell probably fits best in the outfield, but I'm also not confident slotting him into the lineup going into the season. He needs to show me he's fixed first.
@MattLombo24 @SPChrisHatfield All good points. Alot of people have forgotten about Campbell, who probably fits best in the OF, tbh I mean, he could theoretically replace Ref if he doesn't come back (but they do love him) - roll w/Raf, Anthony, Duran & Campbell, then trading Abreu? Gotta move Masa still tho

They already need to trade an outfielder. If they want to move two and sign Tucker that can work. I see the Alonso fit. Insurance at first, otherwise he's your DH. Don't hate it.
@SPChrisHatfield Everyone is talking about Alonso but signing Tucker opens up a chance to trade Abreu or Duran

Yes. The answer is, just like last season, it depends, right? Figuring out the OF is the first domino. That's a valuable trade chip no matter who you move, and an update, you'd think, somewhere else.
@SPChrisHatfield Do you think allocating assets to a Joe Ryan (or similar player) trade or FA signing is the better route? In your opinion what should be the move for a lineup upgrade?

I don't care about what they're replacing. I care about what the rotation actually looks like. Find someone to slot behind Crochet. Get your 4 & 5 from the depth you've built. Plenty to do on the other side too.
@SPChrisHatfield So you wouldn’t want to replace Giolito with a trade for Joe Ryan and Buehler with a signing like Cease/King/Bieber?

If Giolito's injury is bad enough he decides to opt in, then it's likely the team that declines. This kind of thing is why mutual options are never picked up.
@SPChrisHatfield I assumed that before this latest arm injury.. thought perhaps that might change things

It's a mutual option for next year. Yes, I expect he'll decline the option.
@SPChrisHatfield Isn’t Giolito under contract? Or you expecting him to opt out

No. Too many places to address to do that. They've got capable starters. Need to raise the high end with the Giolito replacement.
@SPChrisHatfield Do you think two acquisitions is on the table? Trade and FA, and then leave that 5th spot open for competition?
