@tgvdplas drew from his experience in @Politie where digital technology has proved invaluable in many areas but also raised unprecedented puzzles in balancing important goals such as safety and freedom or transparency and deliberation.

@marcelthaens brought insights from @Brabant and the complexity of using data effectively for deciding policy priorities and encouraging collaboration across different domains.

At the event, moderator @MartieneBrande1, general manager with @GemeenteDenHaag emphasised the need to address digitalisation challenges and made connections between the book and current public policy debates.

Van Huffelen’s comments resonated with that of the book: the scale of today’s digital technology opportunities/challenges are huge and the leadership response needs a long-sighted, strategic and citizen-focused approach.
