In 1952 the Churchill govt abolished ID cards, restoring personal liberties. Labour’s plans for mandatory digital ID, alongside restrictions on protest, threaten those same liberties. Listen to the millions signing petitions in opposition, and scrap this Orwellian proposal!

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of primatologist and anthropologist Dr Jane Goodall yesterday. I last met Dr Jane at an event in Hong Kong that I was speaking at, where she physically grabbed my blazer lapel in jest, which I was not expecting. I will never forget that

NEW: We will roll out Digital ID for free across the UK. This is another measure to make our borders more secure, and combat illegal working.

🚨 New research from On the Hook reveals a major problem with the Marine Stewardship Council’s standard: most seafood carrying the label is not fully certified - it’s *conditionally certified* meaning it has actually failed to meet best-practice levels 🧵👇 #SustainableSeafood

But seriously, how long can the global seafood industry (looking at you @Tesco!) afford to hide behind this garbage from the @MSCecolabel? Each year:- 🚩128,000 fishers are subjected to forced labor. 🚩100,000 fishers lose their lives at sea. 🚩Abuses like grueling hours,
