My daughter is learning how to ride a bike this weekend. Every time she falls over we cheer, “yay! Now you get to get back on your bike!” The result is she’s not afraid to fall and is learning that every tumble is an opportunity to learn and try again.

This was me and my former travel partner. He only wanted the aisle and I only wanted the window. We would land after an 8 hour intl flight and start talking about our plans and the poor person in the middle was like, “You know each other?!”

This is so true. In 2011 Bradley and I started a board game group that met at a coffee shop every Sunday in Anchorage. Of the 60ish members we became really good friends with 8 people who we had a lot of fun with while we lived in Alaska.
It's weird that we talk so much about a "loneliness epidemic" but we don't really talk to people about how to make friends or why they are not making friends. So, a few things. I've said this before and people get very angry about me — but something has to replace smoking.
