Conservatives do not and have never cared about free speech — as evidenced by the fact that their definition of it is "Getting to say horrible and cruel things to/about people without anyone criticizing us for it.". If you thought they did? Way to be a sucker.

You will notice that exactly NONE of the people who were so deeply heartbroken over the poor souls who couldn't freely post racial slurs or fake cures for illnesses gives a flying shit about what is happening now here, on TikTok, on FB, etc. Because this was the point all along.

Just to be clear, all of this nonsense for the last several years about "free speech" on social media platforms, about Democrats supposedly controlling things somehow, was always a pretext for the GOP to control them & for people to go along with it.

It was never about "virtue signalling" or "wokeness." It was covering their asses, but the babies of the internet who were sad their bigotry was becoming less socially acceptable threw their tantrums and now these corporations are going to get the absolute shit sued out of them.

The darkly hilarious thing with all of these companies abandoning their DEI programs is that their purpose, from the beginning, was about avoiding discrimination/hostile work environment lawsuits.

Like, no, you don't have any secret mystical knowledge of Trump as a wonderful, peaceful and definitely not bigoted person beyond what the rest of us have seen or had access to, you're just trying to create the idea that it exists and hope that others go along with you.

Just to be clear, Trump is not antiwar. Siding with the aggressor and preferring they be allowed to do whatever they want is not what it means to be antiwar.

What they desperately want is for people to say "OK, let's all just be really horrible to trans people and immigrants so they'll leave the rest of us alone." because that would make them feel special and important.

What the Trump voters want is social power. They want to say horrible, cruel things to and about people and have those people "respect" them and to also join them in ganging up on people they hate even more, as a show of fealty.
