A devastating and, I fear, depressingly accurate prediction. Lost literacy and minimising the value of learning have far-reaching consequences for society that we are already beginning to see.
I wrote this about the decline of literacy - books are the foundation of serious thought. A society in which nobody reads will be one that soon finds itself unable to think.
