Kamala Harris is “fighting for something.” “More than anything we are fighting for something, and we are not gonna do it in a way that we don’t allow ourselves a moment to have a good laugh or sing a song, or dance, or love — anything that brings that enjoyment. The fight is

Eileen Higgins can speak Spanish. Two litmus tests for Democratic political candidates moving forward (especially in places with large Latino populations): 1) Can speak at least social Spanish (or willing to learn). 2) Not actively hostile toward Latinos as a group.

Seems like Democrats might want to nominate a Senate candidate in a state that’s 40% Latino who didn’t viciously attack them last year. You know, someone who could speak to their pain and frustration without the baggage of having insulted them.

For the first time in nearly two decades of our surveys of U.S. Latinos, most say they think the situation of Hispanics in this country has worsened in the last year. And about a third of Latinos say they have considered leaving the country in the last six months.

Two of the biggest issues that helped move Hispanics toward Trump were the economy and immigration. Those are becoming such liabilities for Republicans—especially among Hispanics—that Democrats just won the Miami mayor’s office for the first time in three decades.

The Trump and Musk abuse of Europe on immigration over the past week is really misplaced. Over the past four or five years, the EU has had significantly less irregular migration than the U.S. -- and, while the U.S. has failed to pass an asylum reform package, the EU is doing so.
