I’m a biracial cis guy, so I’m not tryna speak *for* Black women. But I’ve watched this stat get mobilized & weaponized—especially in Black Male Studies spaces—to say “misogynoir can’t be that bad,” or to discipline & police Black women’s critiques. That’s the harm

It also treats over-credentialing as “success.” Black women need more schooling for fewer returns, less protection and worse outcomes. That’s survival under racialized, gendered constraint. That’s not some sort of triumph

The claim usually means Black women have the highest degree attainment *among Black folks*—not across the US. When that distinction gets dropped, it invites bad-faith rebuttals and turns education into a misleading proxy for safety

I get the impulse here, but this framing actually backfires. “Most educated demographic” is imprecise, flattens coercion into success, and gets used to dismissively wave away misogynoir rather than challenge anti-Blackness. A few things…

a term coined by black people now being used against black, disabled, queer people daily for speaking up on issues that concern them. everyone is against critical thinking especially when it comes to things that don't directly affect them. truly disappointing
no words to properly covey how badly it annoys me that the term "woke" is being misused in such a negative manner

This isn’t about biology vs. choice, representation or “better stories.” For me, it was always about formation. These types of fantasies fail cuz they’re always tryna redeem a masculinity I never wanted redeemed 🤷🏽♂️

If your desire formed through refusal—through learning what you couldn’t ethically inhabit—then fantasies that rehabilitate masculinity instead of interrogating it will almost always feel hollow. They *definitely* don’t fucking turn me on 🥴🥴🥴

Idk, it’s almost like masculinity without consequence. All the entitlement, but none of the wreckage that made masculinity morally charged in the first place
