Postponing the Munster Final is an embarrassment for the Camogie Association. Burying the news 16 hours before throw-in is scandalous. Players, coaches, families, production teams… all left in limbo. This isn’t leadership. It’s a crisis. We need action. Now.

Sinn Féin senator Maria McCormack says she’s wearing shorts in the chamber today in solidarity with Camogie players, and encourages those in games this weekend not to wear skorts, even though the Camogie rule book (at present) stipulates that skorts are mandatory attire

Today, the Kilkenny and Dublin camogie players wore shorts in protest. This isn’t about fashion. It’s not about tradition. It’s about athletes being forced to sacrifice comfort, performance and even dignity, for an outdated rule written without them in mind.

The mental energy players spend thinking and fixating on their skort constantly during a match is honestly tolling. A piece of outdated clothing like this shouldn’t let be a distraction when we’re trying to perform at the highest level we can.

By all accounts @OfficialCamogie players want to wear SHORTS and have publicly expressed this. This vote at congress today is unbelievable!
A really frustrating outcome for players who have continuously expressed desires to be allowed to wear shorts. Archaic to still have the powers that be deciding we have to wear skorts when no player opts to wear them at training due to obvious discomfort and impracticality

Very disappointed to report that our motion to replace "skorts" with "shorts" was defeated at @OfficialCamogie Congress today. Gutted for all the players and clubs in Tipperary who voted overwhelmingly for this change.
