React Native Worklets lets you run JavaScript on multiple threads. ๐งต It used to be an internal component of Reanimated, but now itโs available for everyone with even richer apps. โจ The API is still evolving, but the library is already production-ready.

A new library, react-native-ble-nitro, brings JSI-powered Bluetooth Low Energy to React Native โ enabling modern, native-level BLE functionality across iOS and Android.

Welp... as it turns out, I've been using HostObjects and NativeState all wrong. I don't even need them (for the top level db object). As long as I can capture a shared pointer in the lambdas, one can pretty much attach state to any JS object without much fuzz Doesn't make it

start your ads like you're continuing a conversation: - "so yesterday i was..." - "this is gonna sound weird but..." - "you know how sometimes..." drop them into the middle of something. make them think "wait what happened?" before they even realize it's an ad people can smell

Reduced S3 costs 80% by adding one header. CloudFront was re-fetching everything. The problem: - S3 bill: $2,400/month - Static assets only - CloudFront in front - Should be cached - Why so high? The investigation: - Checked CloudFront metrics - Cache hit rate: 12% - Expected:

Go check the age of founders. They made big by betting early on themselves.
We've raised $2.3B in Series D funding from Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Thrive, Nvidia, and Google. We're also happy to share that Cursor has grown to over $1B in annualized revenue and now produces more code than any other agent in the world. This funding will allow

Nobody wants to admit they're living in their mom's basement. But that's what @jackfriks did to get to $10K+ MRR and now he's set for life. I chatted with him for a couple hours, and here's the top 2% of our chat: โ The 2 apps that made him his first $10K (1:21) โ How you can

I like how @satyanadella thinks beyond the tech bro lens. He understands the market correction for any commoditized product and here it is an AI model, which blooms on rich data. So building that infra which is model agnostice is his main priority, for the future applications.
"I can make the argument that if you're a model company, you may have a winner's curse. You may have done all the hard work, done unbelievable innovation, except it's one copy away from that being commoditized." @satyanadella

Nature is healing: โข Neon ๐๐ (TCP): 3.00๐๐ avg ๐ โข Neon HTTP: 4.50๐๐ avg โข Neon WebSocket: 3.90๐๐ avg ๐ Fluid solves the connection pooling issues of serverless. And works *best* with battle-tested clients like ๐๐. Itโs the ideal backend runtime. No lock-in,
Fluid compute changes how serverless works on Vercel: - Classic serverless: Connection to db must be established on every run, so http/websocket were faster - Fluid: Can establish a db connection once and keep it open across many function calls, so pg tcp is now fastest

cursor culture - work a lot - no shoes - daily updates - short deadlines - demos > - personal slack channels - spindrift - extreme agency - meritocratic - permissionless - always day one - mechanical keyboards - laundry - ๐ด๐ก๐ข
I spent the last 60 days working at Cursor. It's been one of the most thrilling phases of my professional life. There's a lot of mystique around the company. Over the last two months, some things matched my expectations; many did not. I wrote an essay for @joincolossus

@frankcalise - Build in release mode and use a little the app measuring with Flashlight to check in which interactions the app is slow - Use Maestro to automate that interaction, then use flashlight to run it 10 times and average measurements - Do my optimization work - Re-run the

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) was sunk by confusing marketing and a forgettable title, yet it turned out to be one of the smartest and most entertaining sci-fi films of the last decade. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt at their absolute best.
What film have you gone into absolutely expecting to hate but that ended up pleasantly surprising you the most?
