I cannot in good conscience continue to be active on a platform that, for the most part, feeds me with content that makes me angry, sad, displaced. My time on this planet is short: I want to dedicate it to people, places, and things that make me happy. See you on the other side!.

However, this place has changed a lot since then. Many of the people whose work I admire and follow are no longer here. This is a different time. Trainspotting's Diane is right: "The world's changing. Music's changing. Even drugs are changing." Social media have changed too.

This is a sad moment and a step I've considered taking for months. I've been active on Twitter since 2012, mostly to keep in touch with academic folks around the world and stay updated with their work. Below this post are 14 years of my professional life. It is hard.

Tomorrow (Mon 23 Sep) I will speak at the Disconnection preconference with a talk on Disconnection and work, based on my CRAFTWORK @ERC_Research project. I will discuss the romanticisation of manual work and the processes of ‘exit’ from knowledge work to craft work in the EU /1.
