Also on that goal, whilst the moment the ball hits the net is obviously the greatest, my favourite thing in all of football is when you realise your team is ‘in.’ As soon as Kane shaped up to pass to Hojbjerg, it was on. That excitement is the best.

There’s bit of erasure going on about two major holidays so for the uninformed: 1) Chanukah celebrates Jewish fighters the Maccabees retaking Jerusalem as the city of the Jews from the Seleucids (Greeks) and re consecrating the Temple there. There was a miracle in that oil burned

It’s that time of year when one of our most senior clerics mention Jesus (whilst omitting his Judaism) to attack Jews while also omitting the reason why there’s hardly any Christians in Bethlehem or why there might be checkpoints.

I feel very strongly that American Jews have no idea what’s going to hit them in the next few years. This is like a Hollywood version of the Corbyn Seder.
It was such a joy to celebrate Hanukkah with Mandy, Kathryn and their son, Gideon. As Jewish New Yorkers across our city prepare to light candles and mark the seventh night today, I wish you and your families a Hanukkah full of light and love.

Hmm, so contact from behind in that penalty box actually is a foul? You learn something new every day
Thought this was brilliant defending from Conor Bradley earlier in the first half. Spence attacks the space, but Bradley was able to recover brilliantly and win a foul for Liverpool. https://t.co/xeKzQMSiEX

But they are! That's the point! That's why England have fucked it! Three of their first-choice bowling attack have missed chunks of the series! Only one of their top five has been any good, and he got moved halfway through the first Test! Their number five is a specialist gully!

This is what VAR has done to the world.
@ADMusgrove That’s about as dangerous a tackle you’re going to , he could of easily destroyed his Achilles a career ending injury seriously give your head a wobble

If we’d gotten an equaliser in stoppage time yesterday, we might’ve seen the first game ever to reach 200 minutes.

Good to see VAR maintaining a nice high bar for all decisions across the league today, other than the ones that fuck over Tottenham, of course

Should be brought back immediately and given a chance to play. It’s too easy for the likes of Romero who have no realistic competition behind him. If you want to focus his mind, having an actual back up may do it, as opposed to an also-ran like Danso or Dragusin.
Currently, the plan is still for Luka Vuskovic to spend the year with HSV. There is no indication that he’ll be returning to Tottenham in January.

@adamdnathan “If we slow it down enough…and view it from several angles…you can almost imagine the microsecond when Xavi has reckless intent…so RED!” VAR should use real-time review!!!

The game isn’t played in still images, which is something referees would do very well to remember. If we’re making decisions based on photos, ekitike has two hands in romeros back for the second goal. Can’t have it both ways
#THFC RED! Xavi is sent off. A horror moment for Dutch attacker and I feel for him, *BUT* when the still image is frozen, his studs are planted into van Dijk's Achilles. Xavi caught VVD while running - so slightly accidental - but you see them given. Nightmare for Spurs. 0-0. 33'

If there was no VAR, you’d never even see a replay of the incident again. An absolute nothing moment in a competitive game, where someone is trying to justify their employment
For me that's a slow-motion red but never a real-time red. But the laws were not written to withstand modern technological scrunity. The tech has in effect re-written the laws.

Was good to see some fight, but there’s still less than nothing there in actual football. Random midfielders shoved out wide to fulfil the need to have a ‘winger,’ and so many times where we have the ball in open play, set possession, and no one has a clue what to do.
