In today's episode of the Night Science Podcast we talk with Martin Schwartz from @Yale about the importance of stupidity in science: while learning science makes you feel smart, true scientific discovery often involves feeling stupid, because it means venturing into the unknown.
New Night Science Podcast episode! Martin Schwartz from @Yale talks with us about the importance of stupidity in scientific research, how the ego can obstruct creativity, and how resilience, self-discovery, and the cultivation of "passionate indifference" – are key in science.

A whistleblower at ICE today exposed that mass hysterectomies are being performed on detained immigrants. If it sounds like a horror show, that's because it is. Gender oppression has a direct correlation with authoritarianism. This is beyond. The vicious cruelty is staggering.

Nationally there’s no “second wave.” There’s one long wave. We’ve been in a plateau of around 20,000 cases and 1,000 deaths a day, largely among minority and vulnerable populations. Reopening will cause spikes, but calling them a second wave denies the reality of what’s going on.

President Trump speaks in the Rose Garden: "We cannot allow the righteous cries of peaceful to be drowned out by an angry mob. The biggest victims of the rioting are peace-loving citizens in our poorest communities and as their president, I will fight to keep them safe."
