Pennsylvania could be on the hook for $800M to continue food assistance for thousands of residents, many of them children and older adults.
Pennsylvania's potential defecit just grew even more, as the bill will cut billions from federal food and healthcare programs that are shared with the states. And Gov. Josh Shapiro has made clear that whatever the eventual price tag to PA, it cannot backfill it.
