Booked a flight, scheduled and saw my doc, scheduled and got a CT scan at the hospital, went to the vet all this week. Most of these complaints are just kids becoming adults and realizing someone’s not there to do it for them any more.
Maybe I'm overly sensitive bc of my line of work, but why does *every single part* of this economy feel like an obstacle course? Booking a flight, seeing a doctor, getting insurance, finding housing, taking your animal to the vet... Are people just numb to all this?

When LA is ready to rebuild, it should consider framing city blocks with stacked units, joined wall to wall, and built right up to the propriety line so that a courtyard block is formed.
Much of San Francisco was completely rebuilt - buildings and infrastructure - just 5 to 6 years after the 1906 earthquake and fire completely devastated vast swaths of the city. In 2024, the planning process for a single large apartment complex or water main can take as long.
