If this happens, by the rules, a conference champion has to make it in to the playoffs. So if teams opt out and lets say Michigan or USC win the Big 10 , BYU or Utah takes the Big 12 and Bama or Texas takes the SEC. Now all three of those teams get in plus the opt outs

Here's an interesting scenario no one's talked about. What if OSU Indiana and Oregon opt out of the championship if they're already in? What if UGA, A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma all opt out because they're in? What if Texas Tech opts out and lets BYU and Utah battle?
