Was looking up how to swap out the transmission on my outback and was directed to this website. The URL is... ah...

Barely aware of the existence of this unfortunate man btw, but RIP. The world is a scary place sometimes.

Fascinating study in peoples non-internally consistent belief systems. The writer is: - Athiest, but believes in witchcraft? - Athiest, doesn't believe in witchcraft but pretends to? - Theist, but thinks making curses incures no spiritual harm to the curser? Odd people.

Not strictly true given industrial applications, but this guy ^^^ is smiling thus because the masses have imbibed one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever.

If you're poor you'll be called a lunatic, or a madman. If you're rich you'll be bestowed with the title of "eccentric"

She of course took this as "I'd prefer to loose hundreds of dollars than see you again". Worked out for the best though as I met my wife 2 years later... but found out they were in fact friends and had discussed the incident lol

I holidayed with friends & was invited by a girl to her house in the country. Got her # and she messaged me next day I'd forgot my rather expensive pair of shoes I'd changed out of. Had no car to drive back there, didn't want to inconvenience her so I said "just throw them away"
I just realized the girl in high school who told me she had been having a recurring dream that she was pregnant with my child was probably NOT feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities in a new chapter of her life as my dream dictionary suggested but was instead into me…

Human vision is inconsequential to these graphs... Just think about the effects of *all life* (or potential life) on earth if the absoprtion spectrum of water didn't crater right where the sun produces most of its power.
water isn't clear but it seems clear because it filtered what it wasn't clear to, which you then didn't evolve to see

My grandfather was in a dementia ward for years and he'd stuff bits of paper into the locking mechanisms to prevent them from engaging properly so he could go out after-hours. Couldn't remember his kids names but he had this level of cognition available.
My grandmother is in a memory ward with mild dementia and this is how they lock the doors. Code below the pinpad. So obvious nobody needs to explain it. Weird that the part of your brain that can read and infer what numbers mean goes before the part that can have a conversation

Went on a walk this evening to a park with my beloved wifey and she starts jumping around, spinning and performing all sorts of acrobatics on the grass. "Wow what inspired all of that?" I ask. "Idk, I was just frolicking" 😂🤣😅😆

In reality, not admitting to myself that I need these baby steps was causing repeated failure. If the foundation wavers, what we have built upon it will fall. He who is faithful in what is least, is faithful also in much, and I will not despise the day of small beginnings.

I believe success in life means the establishment and maintenance of good habits. Yet, I've found it very difficult to apply this in my own life. What's helped me is setting goals that subvert my pride: laughable baby steps. With this approach I am slowly gaining momentum.

"Good manners cost nothing" is true, but doesn't go far enough. The art of politely inclining others towards agreeableness and good will is of an incalculable, but tremendously positive value.

Funniest thing happened ~40 years later... some other friends I knew ended up buying that same property (unaware) and wanted to put an extension on their house. They just had to dig up this old concrete slab... aaaand it turned out to be an expensive exersice lol.

A friend belonged to a Triumph motor racing circuit in the 60s. He converted to Christianity & decided it was too dangerous, too many deaths. Car was not street legal hence he could only sell to others in the circuit.... so he dug a hole and encased the whole thing in concrete.
i want to donate some of the books i got from my baby shower that are like baby brain rot but then i feel bad that some other baby might have to endure the baby brain rot….. i understand the burning of books on a whole new level now

I feel like I have one good novel in me. I have formulated an outline for it already, but am daunted by the immensity of the task. I generally find YA novels targeted at my boy to be *very* dissapointing. I'd love to produce this generation's "Hatchet" or "Famous Five".
