Researchers pointed a satellite dish at the sky for 3 years and monitored what unencrypted data it picked up. The results were shocking: They obtained thousands of T-Mobile users' phone calls and texts, military and law enforcement secrets, much more: https://t.co/ZT0nAJch7s🧵👇

@kyletorpey Another interesting angle, is that many in the pro-Knots camp are spreading a lot of fear and noise about CSAM risk. Ironically, this fear spreading and narrative will increase the risks of CSAM appearing on onchain to a much greater extent than the risks from increasing the

Can anyone point me to the full specification of the DATUM protocol (Decentralized Alternative Templates for Universal Mining). Seems hard to find.

Not even then. Because miners would more and more accept spam transaction paying decent fees directly weakening the p2p transaction relay. If you care about Bitcoin long term, n1 priority is mining centralization.
@volpeLP filters are safe and effective, but only if everyone runs knots.

Some Core developers have had to endure a lot (myself excluded—thick skin). While most ad hominem attacks come from losers sitting in their mum’s basement and pretending to know how “things work,” this needs to stop.
A big thank you goes out to all of our #bitcoin devs! Thank you for making bitcoin what it is today!

"The only reason we have time to bicker with each other about nonsense is because nobody is using Bitcoin for money. That's why the blocks aren't full. We're always going to be unhappy with the people that use it because they're just there to fill up cheap block space." ~ John

I struggle why people don’t get the point…. IMO the rational is very simple to understand. See Pieter Wuille’s response to that PR: « I do not believe this to be in the interest of users of our software. The point of participating in transaction relay and having a mempool is
Let's talk about filtering inscriptions. Because if it's possible - the main rationale for blowing out the OP RETURN limit to such an absurd degree no longer exists. It is achievable. 28408 needs to be reopened and merged into Core. No one running a node wants to relay

If you only learn one thing about the OP_RETURN drama, make it this. From a network perspective, the most important risk to Bitcoin’s longevity is mining centralization, by far. Just when we’re on the cusp of making transaction selection decentralized with Braidpool, P2PoolV2,
Direction transaction submission to miners, out of band, permissionless mining, and mining decentralization
