"Do we have a responsibility not to look away? At a time when images often come to us without context, how can we improve our visual literacy?" @_alicezoo and Jennifer Good on witnessing future violence: https://t.co/0htO2r2fXk

Thrilled that my portrait of Joanna Bell, emergency department nurse at @NHSHomerton, will be exhibited at the Taylor Wessing exhibition @NPGLondon this year. I photographed her last year, during her shift on the hottest day ever recorded. #BlessTheNHS

"To photograph is to be bolted to time and to space. (...) If my camera or my body somehow fails, then the picture makes a record of this failure. If all is in flow, then this is also what the picture makes a record of." -@_alicezoo

Not a surprise to find out that Rosalind Fox Solomon is a fan of Anne Carson! We also spoke about ritual, independence, and and the new successes she's finding in her 90s. https://t.co/fJcxnRCOqt

I loved working on this story: a journey to an active volcano in Turkey in search of the mythical Silphion, during the one week a year when its flowers bloom
Thanks to a lucky encounter almost 40 years agoโand decades of subsequent researchโone professor suspects he has re-discovered the last holdouts of Silphion more than a thousand years after the plant disappeared from history books
