The feet were designed to make use of the toe of these pointy shoes I have, and made to fit over the top. I rolled up some paper for bones, and cut a pattern out of muslin. Then I cut the pieces out of this faux ostrich I had from another project and sewed them together by hand

I used Amazon's cheapest dog clippers to trim down the fur for the face + wing. Thank u to Furry Internet for warning not to use people clippers, and for showing me this cool trick where you brush the back of the fur with a slicker brush to pull hairs through and conceal the edge

Wire mockup of the frame and a test panel for the fur. The body fur was made of 5 petal-shaped pieces like this. I searched "egg plushie pattern" to get an idea of what shape the pieces should be, because I knew SOMEONE online had to have made one. Also, a test shape for the wing

Paper mache inserts to add shape and support to the wings, head, and feet

Beak, eye/ears and toenails were sculpted out of polymer clay, baked, sanded, and painted

I modeled him in Rhino and used the cross section curve circumferences to build a structure similar to historical crinolines/hoop skirts. Thanks to the online costuming community I found out that thin water pipe tubing works great, and saved me hundreds of thousands on whalebone
