It’s much easier to blame developers, tech, Airbnb, vacancies or whomever for our housing problems than to focus on solving the actual problem: That *we* as a society — through our elected governments over a 50 year period — have made it impossible to build enough housing.
Despite being in it for years, it’s always surprising how badly people want the housing crisis to be a story about a few immoral bad actors as opposed to one about the utter failure of jurisdictions to adopt basic housing and planning policy.
