3. The Bureau began work on Census 2030 in 2019. Counting hundreds of millions of people across a vast continent is a big lift. It doesn't seem feasible to accomplish this with the additional task of excluding certain immigrants by 2030.

If unauthorized U.S. immigrants aren't counted, 3 states could each lose a seat they otherwise would have had and 3 others each could gain one.

This post immediately brought 3 things to mind: . 1. The Census Bureau's mission to count everyone is what enables us to study the size and characteristics of the unauthorized immigrant population.

Help! I'm mentoring a college student who will be applying for summer internships soonish but she's a finance major and I know almost no one in that realm. Looking for any tips on upcoming programs that would be a good match. She can work near DC or remotely.

In many countries, including the U.S., Canada and much of Europe, migrants are more likely than the native-born population to have a religion, slowing secularization in these destinations.

The religious makeup of emigrants often differs markedly from that of people who have remained in their origin country. For example, roughly 80% of people living in India are Hindu, 15% are Muslim and only 2% are Christian. But here’s the composition of migrants from India:

Muslims and Jews are also disproportionately likely to be living outside of their country of birth. Hindus and the religiously unaffiliated make up lower shares of the global migrant population than they do of the general one.
