My sister teaches science in Georgia. I was lucky enough to surprise her when she was awarded the teacher of the year award. She has never had an easy road, but always had a smile. I’m proud that she has used obstacles to add layers to herself so she can connect with all students

This week brought a lot on everyone’s plate. For real. A lot. Proud of our staff for how we worked with our kids. Feeling grateful. Had a thought: In schools there are lots of uncontrollable negatives. Grateful that this weeks only ‘struggle’ was a lot of work. That’s a blessing.

Irene Miller, Holocaust survivor, shared her amazing story to a large group of RHS students today. One part of her message: “Hate has no logic. Hate is learned…you have the power to create a cycle of respect instead of hate” Such an incredible experience for our students!
