🌳Conservative County & District Councillor 🚌 Shadow Member for Transport Management 👥 Deputy District Group Leader 🗳️ Campaign Manager

MP Chris Bryant has stated MPs should be given financial help to pay for childcare because they have to attend the House of Commons on a Saturday.
Surely they can just about cover this with their £79k salary? 3 Saturdays in 70 years and MPs ask for financial help.. 🙄
I have to say the events over the past few days has turned me into a
#Brexiteer
. I didn’t think I would ever say that.... 🤭
I’m appalled at what so many remain MPs and campaigners are doing. Our democracy is at risk if we do not respect the voters of this country.
I’m amazed at how quick colleagues have forgotten where we were under those last few months of
@BorisJohnson
. I’m sorry but he is not the answer to our problems.
I’m no fan of Cummings but can someone actually show me any proof he broke the rules because from what I’ve seen/heard it was within the guidance.
This media witch hunt actually makes me think the PM should keep him in place to make a clear point media aren’t running things.
The vile I’ve seen on social media today aimed at Rishi Sunak is simply disgusting. Leave our party or don’t vote for us if you don’t want but no need to resort to racism or personal attacks. Personally I’m proud we have our first Indian origin man as PM of our great country! 🇬🇧
What a pathetic tweet and trolling from
@terrychristian
. Here is the original photo I tweeted from our conference in 2021. I’m proud to know these guys who engage in politics and our party. We need more young people getting involved across the political spectrum. Grow up Terry.
All is not over yet…
@JeremyClarkson
has lodged an appeal against West Oxfordshire District Council for both farm shop car park extension & the enforcement notice for opening a restaurant without planning. The planning inspector will conduct the hearing in March🍿
#ClarksonsFarm
Yesterday I spoke in favour of a motion to scrap free meals for councillors at
@OxfordshireCC
. The coalition voted against our motion so whilst some in
#Oxfordshire
struggle to eat they will continue to enjoy their free lunches. This LibDem/Labour/Green coalition are a disgrace.

Political leaders could learn a lot from you Andy and Westminster politicians owe you a great deal - an apology first and foremost. I hope we now see you go into the House of Lords. Thank you for your service 👏👏
🇬🇧 Theresa May really is such a stateswoman. It’s a tough job being PM it’s even tougher being on the back benches surrounded by people who put you back there. Fair play to her.
🥳 A great day as
@OxfordshireCC
cabinet APPROVE the use of land for a new stadium near Kidlington. Thank you to everyone who has helped get to this stage and to the cabinet for the support.
#OUFC
#COYY
🏟️✅ Next step it’s the planning stage. Let’s get this stadium built!
I think it’s pretty disgraceful that a man who wants to be our next Prime Minister didn’t attend the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance this evening. What an embarrassment you are to this country
@jeremycorbyn
.
My mum got the all clear from her oncology consultant today after receiving radiotherapy treatment with no side effects. She has officially beaten cancer & I couldn’t be happier right now. She’s been incredible! Thank you to the amazing team at Churchill Hospital in
#Oxford
👏💝
🗳️💙 I’m delighted to be elected as the District Councillor for the Hailey, Minster Lovell & Leafield ward. Despite a fierce fight from the Lib Dem’s they just couldn’t beat me! 😁😁
#WinningHere
#WinWithWalker
Also, shout out to Harry Hall who bravely addressed the meeting today with a very emotive speech about why
@OUFCOfficial
is so important to him and his family. Well done Harry! 💛👏
#OUFC
🇬🇧 I think
@PennyMordaunt
has the ability to take our country and our party forward by leading a strong team who will focus on the pressing issues our country faces both at home and abroad.
#PM4PM
On May 5th we have so many brilliant
@Conservatives
candidates standing for election. Councillors & candidates working hard for their local communities, keeping your council tax low and managing your money responsibly. We’re getting on with the job. That should remain our focus.
David Cameron is the reason many of us joined the Conservative Party. He held together a difficult coalition period & went on to win us that crucial general election in 2015. He’s well respected around the world & will do a steadfast job as our Foreign Secretary. Congrats DC 👏
.
@Peston
was completely wrong on
@itvnews
tonight. The
@Conservatives
members that will decide who will be our next PM are not only “white middle class retired men”.
We are a proud diverse party made up of young, old, rich, poor, white, black, gay, or straight, men and women.
The very best of luck to
@JeremyClarkson
with his planning appeal hearing meeting today. Let’s hope the planning inspector sees sense and overrules the councils objection to the
#DiddlySquatFarm
car park so people can stop having to park on or obstructing the nearby roads.
Captain Hindsight strikes again! 🦸🏼♂️ This government has paid the wages of millions of people for nearly a year because of this pandemic as well as also raising wages for public sector workers. Putting families first is more than just a slogan Keir.
Keir Starmer calls on government “to put families first”
The Labour leader says the planned pay freeze for public sector should be scrapped and instead key workers should get a “pay rise they deserve”
The atmosphere at the Kassam tonight was simply incredible! I’m biased I know, but how any councillor could vote against securing a new home for this team & yellow community is beyond me. Let’s hope for a win on & off the pitch over the next weeks & months…

The death of George Floyd was absolutely horrific & the coduct of the officers was appalling. But please, we are still in the midst of a major pandemic. We can’t afford a second wave due to people not sticking to social distancing measures.
Thousands of people gather in Hyde Park in central London for a Black Lives Matter rally in solidarity with US protests against the death of unarmed African-American George Floyd
⛽️ It really is time to stop making cheap fuel duty an election pledge. Increase in duty would generate billions that could be pumped back into better trains or buses. Price varies at different fuel stations anyway. Time to stop rewarding car usage! 🌳🌍
What a contrast between Andy Burnham & Dan Jarvis.
One went into negotiations attacking government & playing party politics.
The other secured a deal & worked with government (despite being Labour) to support his area.
Let’s keep the politics out of dealing with a pandemic.
🏟️ From a disused piece of land the public can’t access to this incredible state of the art sport facility that we can be proud of. This is what we are fighting for. This is what we need to deliver for
@OUFCOfficial
and for
#Oxfordshire
. Let’s get it built!
#OUFC
For any
#ClarksonsFarm
fans there is sadly a precedent in
#WestOxfordshire
with the council refusing other farm shops. Local farms should be able to diversify rather than being caught up in planning red tape. Time for councils to stop being anti-farming.
🏟️💛 A big day for
#OUFC
fans & for the future of
@OUFCOfficial
tomorrow. After years of work a decision will be made by the cabinet at county whether land known as the triangle near
#Kidlington
can be the new home for the club. Time to get this over the line & protect the…
A Conservative Prime Minister being applauded and cheered on a hospital visit.
Don’t let
#Labour
try and make out we don’t care about our fantastic

, we do! 👏🏻
I don’t support the LibDem/Labour/Green bus gate plans but this is a completely untrue tweet. Residents aren’t on lockdown & traffic can enter/exit the different zones. The restriction is being able to drive through a bus gate. Attack them on the facts not on conspiracy theories.
Oxford (UK) to introduce first climate lockdown.
City will be divided into six neighborhoods and residents locked down in them - no traffic in or out - on a rotating basis.
Plan approved on Nov. 30.
I’m pleased
@OxfordshireCC
&
@OUFCOfficial
now have an agreement in place for the heads of terms for the council to lease land it owns near
#Kidlington
for the club to develop a new stadium. This ends the dither and delay after mounting pressure from councillors and fans.
#OUFC
🗣️ "It's a cover-up - they are acting like masters. They need to come clean and right their wrongs by re-running the sham consultation, which has misled people. The council leaders are absolutely desperate, and are clearly in panic mode." 🗞️ My view on the …
Amazing news that
@OxfordshireCC
cabinet have agreed to continue discussions on Stratfield Break as a new home for
@OUFCOfficial
. A long journey ahead but this is the first step in ensuring
#OUFC
has a sustainable future. I was happy to speak today in favour of these plans 💛💙
I couldn’t think of a worse version. Get fined as you pass go unless you’re on a bike. Pay a fine if you go through a bus gate. Take a chance down the Botley Road only to find it’s closed off. If you end up in jail enjoy the vegan meal as meat is banned.
Over 2,000 Ukrainians arrived in Oxfordshire this year. I'm so proud of the way our community has come together to support them.
But many families now face issues finding housing as they look to settle in the UK. This week I spoke in Parliament about what more govt needs to do.
🏟️✅ Onto the next hurdle now! I’m really pleased that the cabinet at
@OxfordshireCC
have agreed to formally enter into negotiations and agree the heads of terms with
@OUFCOfficial
on the triangle piece of land in
#Kidlington
. Let’s get this done!
#OUFC
Thanks to
@Togetherdec
&
@ReconnectingOx
for holding tonight’s discussion on the impact of bus gates & LTNs in
#Oxford
along with a packed hall of residents. Democracy matters. Voting matters. Your opinion matters. We can beat this coalition of chaos at the ballot box! 🗳️
🚧 Update on Oxford East LTNs…
❌ Bus companies objected.
❌ Local residents objected.
❌ Local businesses concerned.
✅ Yet today, the coalition at
@OxfordshireCC
have APPROVED making the LTNs permanent. A kick in the teeth for local democracy. We will fight this decision.
🚧⛔️ Time for councillors to take back control of the county council & end the coalitions anti-motorist approach in
#Oxfordshire
. This is my motion for our next meeting to start removing divisive
#LTNs
in
#Oxford
. Will Labour councillors get off the fence & support my motion? 👀
Today’s
@TheOxfordMail
front page really showcases what
#Oxfordshire
has tragically become under a LibDem/Labour/Green coalition.
🚜 Anti-farming.
🏚️ Anti-business.
⛔️ Anti-motorist.
🗳️ Please, we have got to vote them out in May our county and residents don’t deserve this.
Who knew that as the weather got worse all those temporary measures wouldn’t get used..... cycling went up during lockdown because people had time on their hands. Now they are back to work & on school run they need their cars. This was obvious months ago.
Some good news. My Mum had her op today to remove the cancer which all went well and she’s now back home resting. Thank you to the staff at the Churchill Hospital in
#Oxford
for looking after her they’ve been amazing! 🙌 💖
100%! 🙌 Sadly a few weeks ago my Mum told us she had breast cancer. Thankfully a scan caught it early and she’s HER2-negative but next week she has her op to remove it. It was the worst news ever but soon my family will be able to move on. Many aren’t as lucky.
#WorldCancerDay
A trip down to Brighton today with some Oxford United officials to see how this incredible community stadium went from paper to reality. A great vision we can recreate for
#OUFC
to the benefit of
#Oxfordshire
. Plus making sure we have four stands…
Absolutely disgusting Lib Dem, Labour & Green councillors from
@OxfordshireCC
have just voted against our motion & instead support to keep feeding themselves a free lunch at council meetings. It’s not acceptable that
#Oxfordshire
taxpayers are funding lunches for councillors! 😡
Love her. “Even with deeply held differences, treating others with respect is always a good first step to a greater understanding.”
#QueensSpeech
#GodSaveTheQueen
🇬🇧
Fair play to Harry Hall who just addressed the
@OxfordshireCC
cabinet meeting about
@OUFCOfficial
stadium proposal. It’s for young people like Harry that we are fighting for today. A future for the club and a sporting future for this generation and the next.
#OUFC
What a sad moment. A statue to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom & of the man who helped lead that fight have been covered up to protect them from the yobs in London.
The council claiming the decision on bus gates was “sound” is comical!
☑️ Emails show they collaborated with DfT to get bus funding in return for implementing bus gates 6 months ahead of the actual consultation.
☑️ They deliberately withheld traffic …
My message to
@OxfordshireCC
cabinet today was simple: scrap the
#Oxford
bus gate plans.
Stop hammering motorists.
Stop hammering businesses.
And stop dividing communities.
Here’s my speech, with interruptions from Piers Corbyn, who we later found was in agreement with me.
The LibDem/Labour/Green coalition in
#Oxfordshire
won’t like this one bit. It’s right that the government steps in to stop the constant war on motorists we are seeing 👇
