Buddhist (Vajrayana)☸️💎Alleged “Right Wing Dharma Bro” 👹🇺🇸 Friend of Christians ✝️☦️ Brutalism Respecter 🟫🏰

Eat black pills by the fist full. Spit them out gleaming white. There never was a golden age, and the world has always been as evil as it is now. Your sole true responsibility, though no mean feat, is to generate light.

I’ve noticed this. Left-wing violence is cheered on by women, especially soft women who seem poorly prepared for its reality, and seem to expect no censure. Right wing violence is cheered on, usually anonymously, by bitter (but also soft) young men…
Watched a few of those videos and they are chilling. Further confirmation, if any were needed, that an alarmingly large number of women out there are not okay.

In love with a vision of the cool anti-hero you wanted to be, you adopted a Manichaean view of life in which you are the edgy underdog fighting the evil oppressor. It’s sport. It’s fun and games. But would endorse murder to preserve this theater.

The true extent of the heartless narcissism afflicting what can reslly be called “alternative culture” (politics is downwind of a deeper anthropological pattern is on display today.

It doesn’t need to apply to you specifically. I’m sure you’ve observed it in your peers. And you should wonder about the degree to which you police yourself to avoid exclusion and worse forms of reprisal.

If you’re a lib/leftist and you still follow me, you’re probably not a murderous fanatic. But I’d like you to look straight at the matter: broadly, your social paradigm cannot endure challenges without resorting to denial, silencing, demonizing, and finally, incoherent violence.

Be careful what you say, folks. Yes, MAYBE your every word isn't rippling through the aether and integrating itself with the command-line interface of the universe, but it's a simple Pascal's Wager calculation, do you really want to risk it??

Let’s go back to fighting about modern art and architecture, that’s usually pretty fun.
When a psycho knifed a Barnett Newman every professional refused to restore it because it was too hard to match Newman's intrincate brushwork, then one of those "my toddler could make it" guys tried it with a paint roller and the result was so bad *the knifer* complained about it

Probably worth pointing out as well that this reality-denial is also extremely harmful to people who live outside that safety bubble. It prevents their lives from being re-ordered by the norms of those in the better position. What is good & gentle must be *strong* & clear-sighted

A lot of popular politics is really about psychosocial safety/familiarity, even at the expense of *actual* safety.

If there’s something positive you can do, it’s probably to gently ease people you know who are like this into realizing that the sky doesn’t fall when you acknowledge the ugly reality.

…thing in the world, but they just don’t want to see it. It’s so existentially unsettling that they would prefer to be vulnerable rather than address it. I’m talking about commentators, by the way, not the victim.

A general observation: having grown up in an upper middle class white lib environment, it’s very clear that a ton of those people (especially women) almost cannot comprehend the minds of people (schizo or otherwise) who are willing to prey on strangers. It’s the most ancient…

Life is insecure and everything is out of one’s control. We own nothing—we must leave it all behind and pass on. Something is lacking in everybody’s life, no one is fully satisfied, beings are slaves of craving. - Arahant Raṭṭhapāla, MN 82

Politics & social discourse are inevitable and necessary so long as flesh & blood persist. But they are only a front in the spiritual war, & if you lose sight of the “operational” and “strategic” side of that conflict, you’re just going to be another casualty.

I’m not telling you to touch grass, and this is not a criticism of any particular “political response.” But you should be wary and vigilant in your dealings here.

The TL is cursed in a totally literal sense. We are imbibing terrible things, and they change us. The poison is irresistible however, because it reflects the sickness we already suffer from and the fleeting catharsis of collective recognition simulates a sort of exorcism.

my former neighbor had a schizophrenic break while i lived next door. we were friends and she knocked on my door one day telling me she’d been poisoned and asking for help going to the hospital. it took a little while for me to figure out wtf was happening. she was a vibrant and

Yet we also get complaints for teaching people to face suffering head-on. Examine your grief and anger. Send mettā to your enemies. Visualize bloated corpses and hell realms. Contemplate your own death. For monks, wander the wilderness with all its tigers, snakes, malaria, etc.
So much of the Buddhist meditation discourse centres around avoiding suffering, which I get (obviously, there’s value), but personally, that frame doesn’t resonate as much as the goal of discovering increasing depths of intimacy + awe with life.
