Movember isn’t just about a moustache; it’s about starting conversations that matter. Every November, men around the world take a moment to talk about mental health, face their struggles, and support one another. #UBCBuilt #Movember #MentalHealth

Great to see the news of $75 million for UTIP over the next 3 years. It’s a fantastic program which create training pathways for the folks we need to build Canada’s critical infrastructure and housing. Thank you for your leadership on this, @JZerucelli.

When our members write their C of Q exam at our centres, the familiar learning environment eliminates many of the external factors that contribute to lower scores. This change will increase pass rates and make it easier for workers to take the next step in their career. Thank
Ontario’s tradespeople are the backbone of our province. That’s why we’re protecting apprentices across Ontario by expanding on-site exam delivery to over 100 Training Delivery Agent locations. @SkilledTradesON is helping apprentices get certified faster, removing barriers

We believe in the power of the Skills Development Fund to change lives. From young people exploring the trades to workers and jobseekers building their careers here in Ontario, the Skills Development Fund is about better training, for better jobs, with bigger paycheques.

NYC mayoral candidate @ZohranKMamdani linked up with @PabloTorre + former FTC chair @linamkhan for real talk on FIFA's $6,000 "dynamic" ticket pricing at next year's World Cup. "It's absurd!" "It feels apolitical and bipartisan in its absurdity!" "We've just normalized this!"

What stands out to me: Factory-built, modular construction is now recognized as foundational to modernizing how we build homes. There’s a clear shift toward prioritizing large-scale sites—moving away from the historical pattern of building affordable housing in drips and drabs.

This seems to conveniently ignore the funding for skilled trades programs delivered by union training providers which are constantly in-demand. These programs offer wraparound supports and are tied to real employment outcomes. The Feds have also recognized this with UTIP btw.
BREAKING: New report casts scrutiny on a provincial agenda to defund Ontario colleges, while committing $2.5 billion in public dollars to subsidize a privatized system. “If money is being used to shore up votes, Ford will have to answer for it.” #onpoli

The shady contractors we see in construction don’t give a shit about Canadian workers. They just care about saving costs on labour so they can increase their bottom line/underbid those playing by the rules. Boo hoo.
#LATEST: The president of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business called Poilievre's proposal "absolutely ridiculous," adding that ending the program would "gut the labour pool" in many rural and remote communities

He’s right! But it can be fixed. The program serves a need in construction, but it can’t come at the expense of domestic workers who have the skills but can’t get hired.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre described it as a “wage-suppressing, opportunity-stealing program.” https://t.co/PBf8RGW3GB
