With DL coach Aaron Whitecotton drawing interest from Tennessee for the DC job, the Cowboys are interviewing Marcus Dixon, who has been with Minnesota, per sources. He played for the Cowboys from 2008-10 and was with new DC Christian Parker in Denver.

Internally, the Eagles knew they were only renting Parker — he was going to get a bigger role sooner than later. Wouldn't surprise me if the same is said about the Cowboys. When I spoke to people about him and asked if he was a future DC, I got corrected: future HC.

As a separate note, I don't have firm info on this but I do believe there was some pushback from ownership on Daronte Jones. I think Cowboys were as high on Jones as they were on Parker Issues with Jones similar to issues they'd have had with Flores if he were ever interested
