Apparently, the term "Ball Flight" is alarming to some people. So, let's explain a little... What is Ball Flight? Ball Flight is simply the trajectory of the ball when it leaves the bat. Why is it so important? The Basics🧵⬇️
Anything you train should be about improving ball flight. 1️⃣ AUG 2025: Initial Assessment 2️⃣ SEP 2025: Improved Rotation & Intent 3️⃣ NOV 2025: Faster w/ Direction Swing changes are to allow the production to be easier and more consistent. (📷: @BrandonDim24)

I couldn’t be happier to announce that I will a MiLB hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox in 2026. @DrivelineBB I am forever grateful for the chance you gave me. It’s been a pleasure. Bet on yourself, and it just might pay off. #DuckBoats #PortlandSeaDogs

Meanwhile, this is what we’re looking at for former @DrivelineBB hitting coaches next season 3 MLB Hitting Coaches 4 in Director level positions 4 in Coordinator roles 2 AAA Hitting Coaches 2 AA Hitting Coaches Many others throughout the rest of MiLB and college baseball
Overvaluing bat speed isn’t a good idea. Will definitely lead to lower BAs and higher Ks. Basically making hitters “one dimensional”. Not a good product when hitters swing for HRs every damn pitch. Hitters aren’t made in labs. @MLB @DrivelineBB

One of my favorite ways to work on path/sequencing: Pair the Long Bat with the Underload... Why? The Long bat forces the hitter to sequence properly if they want good ball flight🚀 The Underload challenges the ability to recreate that move with an implement 20 oz less than the
The Underload really exposes sequencing and bat path issues This is especially true when dealing with concentrically strong, upper body dominant hitters 🧵below breaking down how & why

Unfortunately, every day can't be a bat speed day, but in the challenging environments we train in, it's hard to lower the intent, so we have to change the mindset. What's the lowest effort you can hit a home run?

One of the worst things you can do as a hitter is never swing the bat fast in practice. Director of Hitting @Tstokey breaks down why bat speed actually matters. Full video in comments ⬇️

Training #Batspeed? 🧠 Do it the right way: Underload game swings off of a @TrajektSports 92mph heater. Keep speed up in game like environments✅ @matt_miura

MLB doesn’t have a standardized system for biomechanics data and it’s holding teams back. Unlike pitch tracking (Hawk-Eye, Trackman), biomechanics varies team to team, creating a massive gap in how player movement is measured and understood. @drivelinekyle breaks it down in a

Training bat speed matters? 🤔 After seeing what David Popkins and the Blue Jays are doing this year, hard to argue otherwise. 📷: @MLBNetwork

The @BlueJays jump from worst to first wasn’t luck or coincidence — it was the product of a clear philosophy led by first-year hitting coach David Popkins. Popkins brought in a modern model for team offense: emphasizing bat speed, measured intent, and giving hitters the
