ACHP applauds the @US_FDA on the new #biosimilar approval guidance. We urge the Admin to build on this momentum and pass the Biosimilar Red Tape Elimination Act to remove interchangeability barriers & deliver real cost savings to patients.
Last week, new guidance was announced to make it faster and less costly to develop biosimilars—safe, effective, lower-cost alternatives to expensive biologic drugs. This win will lower prescription drug costs for millions of Americans.

Much to like here. Certainly a step forward. But Congress must address “interchangeability” problem in order to fully capitalize on the promise of these excellent— affordable — therapies.
