This is good. Meeting users where they are is key. Most important things for Zcash IMO (in order of most to least):. 1. (Private) Getting more ZEC shielded. This is probably a matter of more hardware wallet support, and better wallet UX (zashi and this). 2. (Unstoppable).

No one actually uses BTC and look at that chart. Pretty irrelevant metric for the market if you ask me (unfortunately).
Anytime I post a chart now people ask . "who even uses $ETH " or whatever ticker it is . Market is going HIGHER next few weeks. Sure it will consolidate and have pullbacks along the way. But lmao come on now.

This shielded pool chart has been pretty flat for over a month now. I myself hold 0 transparent ZEC outside of @rhea_finance DeFi. I am speaking to the holders of 80% of supply that do not shield their ZEC. What would make you shield your ZEC? Genuinely curious how so much.

@sethforprivacy @aztecnetwork > Unified Addresses. I was also skeptical when these were introduced, I think the jury is still out as to whether they end up net good or bad for UX and privacy. Personally I think there is still a more elegant solution to be found for taddr/zaddr interop.

My biggest disappointment with the Zcash community is that Gordon's ideas werent implemented many years ago. It's not too late. Can we do this?.
@zooko @Zpartanll7 @jaim3com yep, & I still think it a good idea for user-education & clarity about expectations!. but it's also functionally valuable to offer unit easier for regulated exchanges (& ultra-lightweight wallets) to handle, as guaranteed 1:1 option on full shielding.

You can never truly own transparent crypto. As long as an entity can tie your identity to your crypto, you are merely "allowed" to own it at their discretion. Whether that entity is your nation state as a refugee trying to flee with some of your money, or a criminal in your city.

I like creative ideas like this. May not be the most optimal way to do it, but is a unique attempt to address a UX problem.
a way to improve Zcashās UX without a hard fork to š”ļø only:. 1 chain with 2 swappable coins. - one that is private-only, called Zcash (ZEC). - one that is transparent-only, let's say āTcashā (TEC). now, Zcash is clearly and always a privacy coin! š

I really like this response. If I was someone new to privacy coins and trying to decide where to focus, this is the comment I would give a lot of weight too. It's easy to shit on Monero. I mean as a Zcasher you will get a lot of low IQ trolls in your comments just for.
@genzcash this is not true. ring signatures are cryptographically non-transparent, just like SNARKs are. the difference is how high guarantees of the two cryptographic protocols are, and here Zcash, of course, wins. this still doesn't make Monero "transparent" in any way.

That was quick. Just paid for @nymproject with @Zcash. Accidentally navigated off of the payment screen before confirmation, but still worked out great.
Iāll be switching to @nymproject as soon as zec is available for payment.
