I suspect some (maybe many) of the criminologists who are hostile to quantitative analysis using administrative data (especially police data), really only object because they don't like many of the findings, not because of any objection based on methodological principles.

I am really looking forward to delivering the next few weeks of teaching on 'Public Protection and Managing Vulnerability' as part of the Professional Policing course. In particular, it's great to see it all come together and bring the module to life!

A good start, but long overdue. Too many whistleblowers have been silenced or punished while unsafe managers were quietly promoted. Let’s hope these words translate into real action, not just headlines. Safety must come before reputation. #NHS
