Thankful for my essay on domestic violence in HuffPost. It was read by over 275,000 people, including in Asia. So many contacted me to share that they had a similar childhood.

Honored to serve as the moderator of a workshop, “Understanding Neurodiversity: Why Does It Matter.” Our speaker spoke on autism and ADHD. As someone with ADHD, the program helped me understand myself better and reminded me how important it is to create spaces of empathy and

Excited to attend the @aaja Rosemead screening next week with @LucyLiu @frankshyong @josie_huang. Shame and stigma kept my mother from seeking help and delayed my treatment too. I’ve published pieces in national outlets to raise awareness of how AAPI mental health stigma hurts so

Two of my kids have birthdays this week. I’m so grateful for the kind, hardworking young people they’ve become. An arc of my memoir traces how a physically and emotionally abandoned child grew up determined to become a better mother than the ones she had.

Thrilled that my second New York Times Tiny Love Stories published during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sadly, women of color get mammograms at lower rates that others and yes, young women get breast cancer. I was 30.
