Need time to dig into this, but this decomposition could become a standard part of any paper using IV: "IV-OLS coefficient gap is explained by differences in the weights on the covariates, the weights on the treatment levels, and the identified marginal effects."
IV-OLS gap can be empirically decomposed, accounting for heterogeneity, nonlinearity, and endogeneity bias. In the March 2024 issue of REStat by Shoya Ishimaru.
