“If you were able to overlook a genocide and cast a vote for Harris, you already know how a conservative was able to overlook Trump’s extremism and vote for him.”
Historian Robin D.G. Kelley discusses Donald Trump's election victory and why the Democrats failed to mount a successful challenge.

I also believe a lot of homecomings have lost their essence and have just become super large productions of consumption and aesthetic, not something that caters toward alumni giving back or returning home.

I love how this is in the past tense, like it’s still not terrible to be a visibly Black woman online
People try to forget the anti-black wave of the 2010s. It was a dark time to be a young black woman or girl online. A shift began to around 2016 and people try to act like the shenanigans of the era never happened. Think about the articles, videos & posts of the era about bw/bg.

not gonna lie, I truly thought this case only made it to trial because with orange menace in office he had a small footing and the mouse was going to hand him a small check to settle and be quiet. did not see "oh we finna PUBLICLY EMBARRASS you" coming
i love how Disney’s defense was “So God told you that the vaccine is unnatural but testosterone shots are perfectly fine” then pulled out a list of medications he takes

My god these bylines. Scott Poulson-Bryant, Tom Moon, etc. Vibe was truly a goldmine of culture and criticism.
Vibe Magazine’s 'Next' featured short write-ups on Black artists just as they were on the verge of blowing up. Here is what the magazine had to say about Maxwell (1994), D’Angelo (1995), Eric Benét (1996) and Musiq Soulchild (2000).

the north remembers...
There’s one Black man writer who I will not name who was heavily involved in the degradation of Black women during that period. When he rebranded as an intellectual & got his prestige writing job folk confronted him about it and he deleted his Twitter. Now he only posts on FB. 🙃

Is this about Tyler? Because I am uniquely qualified to speak on it and you are 100% correct. He is not suburban. He is from my hometown, same schools, both Inglewood/Hawthorne kids. That narrative they’re pushing is BS because it’s all Black & Brown folks out here.
