Hey folks, largely stopped using the bird site, I just remembered to actually put my handle on the other social networking setup in my profile/name. In a last bit of news I'll post here, I've been promoted to Staff Engineer! Pretty hyped about it.

@rust_foundation Is this a late April Fool? This would make it very difficult if not impossible to support Rust on @CompileExplore : we use the language icon as a button in places, we use the name in a helpful domain name ( https://t.co/yrDxabm9Fy), and it's of course mentioned in our codebase too

Before this site goes up in flames, my team @particle is hiring a Technical Account Manager. The team is fantastic and the work is interesting! If you are great at communicating and know some C/C++ please reach out. Happy to answer any questions!

beer hack: Got a dark beer that could use a bit more flavor? Add a shot of cold brew concentrate, now you have a coffee stout or w/e. Future Wraithan is going to be pretty pissed off at me when he tries to sleep, but that dude's always complaining about Past Wraithan.

What incentive do I have to start formally signing and making my stuff ok for billion/trillion dollar businesses when all they'll use it for is to push blame and risk out onto unpaid open source devs? Clout? lol

Any "solution" to software supply chain attacks that doesn't start with "establish a support contract with the maintainer(s)" is already dead in the water. Entitled corps expecting way too much from OSS side projects is how we got here and ignoring it is 🤡

One of the times I flunked out of computer science classes, my mind rebelled against writing machine code by hand for a project, so I wrote a basic compiler and language. I got an F because "the point was to learn how machine code works not write a compiler"

ADHD is being assigned a 20-page report in English class and turning in an elaborate, single-page newspaper you created instead—complete with various news stories related to the topic and even a feel-good story about a local puppy being saved. I literally did this, I got a B-

NGL a nice clap to hype myself up before I start something is good anyway. A sharper version of a loud "allllllright..." that I use to jump my brain into the next thing. "can clap" nah, "get to clap" that's the ticket!

From just a backend engineer's perspective, I'm always impressed by QA people's work. They are knowledgeable about products and architecture, and triage the issues efficiently. Appreciate their amazing work, kudos for folks who are QA engineers here too👏👏👏

I’m looking to install some led strip lighting on some shelves. Loads of options out there. Interested in recommendations from y’all. Have you done it on a set of wall shelves? What did you use?

I don't say this lightly: if it's against your religion for people to protect themselves and others from HIV, you need to find a new religion.
