We are living in incredibly dark days, but we cannot succumb to despair here in the heart of empire. We must rise up to the urgency and solemnity of this moment. Arms embargo now. Free Palestine now.

It is our duty to implement an arms embargo from below, end the siege and massacre of Gaza, and stand in solidarity with our Palestinian comrades until the Israeli settler colonial regime is over and Palestine is free.

Now more than ever, workers need to maintain pressure on Israel and its accomplices in Britain – whether the govt, the arms industry, or their backers. We must continue organising our workplaces and building pressure in strategic sectors to cut off the flow of arms for genocide.

We were always clear on this: A ceasefire alone was never going to mean peace, justice, or accountability. On Tuesday, members of the Mask Off Maersk campaign around the world targeted the Danish shipping giant to stop profiteering from genocide.

Over and over, we are seeing Keir Starmer’s government capitulate to the tyrannical whims of the Trump administration. Washington says Europe needs to increase its defence spending, and London obliges, suddenly finding billions to feed the war machine.

The UK government continues to allow the sale of British-made weapons to the Israeli military, and has made it clear that no breach of international law, no matter how serious, would make it reconsider its arms sale policy.

The UK has conducted countless surveillance flights over Gaza since October 7. It has allowed the US to use its military bases in the Middle East and abetted deadly bombardments of Yemen.

The UK government is not just a passive bystander in the genocide. It is Israel’s accomplice and collaborator in its crimes against humanity and decimation of international law.
